We begin our day with a visit to the renowned Graindorge Cheese Factory in Livarot. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about the production of Normandy’s most famous cheeses, including Livarot, Pont-l’Évêque, Camembert, and Neufchâtel. Through an interactive tour, you will witness the traditional craftsmanship behind these delicacies and, of course, enjoy a delicious cheese tasting.
Lisieux – A Stop at the Majestic Basilica
Next, we head to Lisieux, home to the impressive Basilica of Saint Thérèse, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in France. For lunch, we will visit Beuvron-en-Auge, officially classified as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France.” With its half-timbered houses, flower-filled streets, and charming atmosphere, this village is the perfect setting for a traditional Norman meal. You will have the choice between a refined local restaurant or a cozy crêperie, depending on your preference.
Cider & Calvados – A Taste of Normandy’s Finest
In the afternoon, we will continue our journey through the Pays d’Auge countryside with a visit to a family-run cider house and distillery. I will introduce you to the fascinating process of cider and Calvados production, from apple orchards to the distillation and aging process. The visit will conclude with a guided tasting of these regional specialties, allowing you to appreciate the distinct flavors of Normandy.
Deauville – The Elegance of the Normandy Coast
To end our tour on a high note, we will make a stop in Deauville, the iconic seaside resort famous for its luxurious villas, horse racing culture, and elegant boardwalk along the sandy beach. Known as the “Parisian Riviera,” Deauville offers a perfect blend of sophistication and relaxation. Stroll along the Planches boardwalk, admire the Belle Époque architecture, or take some time to explore the stylish boutiques and cafés.
